Teenager hit in head in Tunbridge Wells attempted robbery

Police are searching for a smoking robber after a teenage boy was hit in the head and had his rucksack taken from him.

The robbery happened in St Johns Road in Tunbridge Wells.

The teenager was walking towards Southborough when another teenager approached him near the junction with Speldhurst Road, struck him on the side of his head and took his bag.

The victim was not injured and managed to get his rucksack back before running away.

The suspect is described as white, 17 to 18 years old, 6ft, of medium build and with short straight blond hair. He was wearing a tracksuit, smoking a cigarette and was reported to be with a group of other teenagers.

The robbery happened at around 12.15am on Sunday, May 28.
