A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after falling 40ft from a roof in Tunbridge Wells.

Kent Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to Grosvenor Road at 9pm yesterday following a call from a member of the public concerned about the boy's welfare.

It is thought he fell from the roof of Pret A Manger and was then taken to a London hospital with head, back and leg injuries.

Police say they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Pret A Manger said, “The reported incident in Tunbridge Wells happened after our shop closed on Saturday night and we have not been contacted by the police in relation to their investigation at this stage.

"We wish the boy all the best and hope he is able to make a full recovery.”
