Three charged following robbery of two men in Merrion Way, Tunbridge Wells

Three people have been charged after two men were robbed of a jacket, bag and rings.

The victims were approached by a group of people at around 8.40pm on Thursday in Merrion Way, Tunbridge Wells, and were threatened before being robbed.

Kent Police officers carried out inquiries in the area before arresting a man and two teenage boys during the early hours of yesterday morning.

Leon Makoni, 18, of Grange Road in Tunbridge Wells, and two 17-year-old boys, were charged with two counts of robbery and possession of a knife.

Makoni has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.

The two teenagers are due to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on October 26 and November 23.
