Unusual hat clue could help catch would-be robbers

POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to talk to in connection with an attempted robbery.

The incident happened at a newsagents in Camden Road, Tunbridge Wells, on January 10 at 6.30pm.

Two men went into the newsagents and threatened staff, but nothing was taken and no-one was hurt during the incident.

One of the men was wearing dark coloured clothing with a hood up and scarf over his face.

The other was white, thought to be aged between 20 and 30, and wore a black jacket, blue jeans, a scarf over his face and an unusual hat with multi-coloured ringlets hanging down.

Police hope that the distinctive hat may prompt someone to contact them.
