Drivers faced delays after a lorry shed its load of concrete blocks onto a dual carriageway near Paddock Wood.

The accident happened just after the roundabout for the Hop Farm on the northbound A228 Branbridges Road this evening.

The inside lane was blocked with debris scattered across both lanes.

Charlie Aldred witnessed what happened. He said: "The truck went over the roundabout with the load on the back looking like it was slanted, then by the time we were round the roundabout loads of the contents had just fallen on the floor.

"We were about 4 or 5 cars behind and people were creeping past to look or avoid the debris. It probably looks worse than what it was. It looked like concrete bricks."

The road was reopened by 7.30pm.
