A 32-year-old man from Yalding arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crash on B2162 in Collier Street, Maidstone.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police pursuit.

Officers were called at 4.40am today to reports of a suspicious vehicle in East Peckham.

Patrols followed a black Volvo until it crashed into the side of the road on the B2162 in Collier Street, Maidstone, near the junction with Green Lane.

Police are at the scene

The 32-year-old driver, from Yalding, was taken into custody. He was not injured in the collision.

The road was closed in both directions and had reopened by 9.45am.
