Outbuildings destroyed as crews battle blaze in Bendenden

Firefighters battled for hours to contain a blaze which spread through outbuildings in Benenden.

At the height of the fire, seven fire engines were in attendance at the scene in Standen Street, as well as a bulk water carrier and a technical rescue unit.

Crews were called to reports of several outbuildings alight just after 7am, and remained on the scene until just before 4pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s volunteer response team also attended to provide welfare and support.

Three outbuilding were destroyed by the blaze. No casualties were reported and cause is not yet known.
