Farmer 'trampled by livestock', police believe

A farmer who didn't return from a daily feed was trampled to death by his cattle, police believe.

Sussex Police were called out to Groombridge at around 10.30pm on Friday after the farmer failed to return from feeding his livestock.

Following a search the man was found and pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson from Sussex Police said: "At this time we're not treating the death as suspicious.

"It is believed the farmer may been trampled by livestock."

The case has been passed on to the coroner.
