Firefighters were called to a fire that destroyed a car in the The Tanyard in Cranbrook overnight

Fire crews were called the scene of a fire that destroyed a car in Cranbrook overnight.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at a car park in The Tanyard, which left another car with heat damage.

One engine was sent to the scene after the force control room received six calls from worried residents shortly after midnight.

Crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to bring the blaze under control.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire remains unknown.

Police were called to assist firefighters.

Kent Police has been approached for comment.
