Lorry crashes off road in Lamberhurst and brings down telegraph pole

A lorry crash forced the closure of a road after it brought a telegraph pole down.

The B2162 Lamberhurst Road was shut in both directions between Lamberhurst and Horsmonden this afternoon after the route was blocked by the fallen pole.

The accident, which saw the lorry crash off the road and through a hedge, happened between the junctions with Tong lane and Ruck Lane.

It is understood the road reopened at about 5.55pm.

Police and other emergency services have been approached for a comment.
