Kent Police called after glider lands off Church Green, Marden

A glider had to make an emergency landing in a field in Marden today.

The pilot landed safely near Church Green at 1.20pm but police were called following reports of a disturbance on the private land.

Officers spoke to both parties and the issue was resolved peacefully.

Gliders are occasionally forced to land in fields if they lose the uplift from wind or fly out of a thermal which extend the length of their flight.
