Lenham: Police called to Coop store after 'selfish' customer tried to bulk buy milk

Staff at a supermarket had to call the police after an argument broke out while a shopper tried to stockpile milk during the current snowstorm.

Police were called this morning to the Cooperative in Lenham to reports of a dispute involving three customers.

One man, who did not wish to be named, said their wife had seen a "full-blown argument" between the managers and a customer who was seeking to "selfishly stockpile milk".

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 9.52am regarding a minor dispute involving three customers at a shop in Faversham Road, Lenham.

Gritters were out in force this morning in Lenham.

"Advice was given to the shopkeeper and the customers left the premises having paid for their shopping. No offences were disclosed."
