Police and Kent Search and Rescue scoured woodland as the hunt for a missing man continued.

Chris Fisher, known as Chris, was last seen on Thursday, August 9, having last been seen in or around Dering Woods near Pluckley, Ashford.

Officers and three KSAR dog units were dispatched to the woodland last night after a member of the public reported hearing noises.

However, after hours of searching last night night, no sign of Mr Fisher was found.

Stuart Baird, KSAR operations director, said: "We have been out since Thursday last week.

"We sent three dog units out last night after a member of the public reported hearing noises in the woods but the dogs and police searched for three or four hours through the night and found nothing.

"We have searched all around the woods where Chris was known to walk his dog and haven't found anything."

According to police, the 31-year-old from Headcorn was in a distressed state when he was last seen.

Speaking on the Saturday following Mr Fisher's disappearance, inspector Carl Howsen said: "Christopher is autistic and was distressed when he went missing. If you see him, please call us and do not approach him because it will scare him and cause him more distress.

"He is reported to be wearing dark trousers and either a blue rain coat or a navy blue zip-up hooded top.

"He had his black and white Spaniel dog called Molly with him. Prior to being reported missing, he was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa, which has since been located, but we are keen to hear from anyone who might remember seeing him in the car on 9 August.

"We remain concerned for Christopher’s welfare and keen to reunite him with his family as quickly as possible."
