The Manchester-based band rose to fame in the 1980s as part of Tony Wilson’s Factory Records alongside Joy Division and New Order.

Their hits, including Step On, Kinky Afro and 24 Hour Party People, have led to two BRIT Award nominations and an Ivor Novello Award in 2016.

Frontman Bobby Gillespie was also the drummer of alt-rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain before founding Primal Scream

If you’re not a fan of British rock bands, the seaside attraction will also be home to the Margate Soul Festival over the weekend.

The festival will take place at Dreamland’s indoor venues the Ballroom and the Hall by the Sea, as well as a number of locations along the harbour and beach, from Friday to Sunday.

This year, the line-up includes American singer Leroy Burgess and Grammy-nominated musician Josh Milan.

There will also be live DJs, carnival street parties, nighttime entertainment and a closing party on Sunday night.

Dreamland has already seen performances from the Human League, McFly and Tom Jones this summer

You can get tickets to both events here.

The concerts are part of Dreamland’s summer programme, which includes artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Olly Murs, The Streets, Two Door Cinema Club and UB40.
