A town centre bar is rolling back the clock for its disco diva customers.

Banks, in Maidstone, has booked 80s singer Jaki Graham, who had chart success with Could It Be I’m Falling in Love, and soul band Heatwave, known for hits Boogie Nights and Always and Forever, to perform on its stage next Saturday.

Licensee Julie Lucas, 51, said she felt inspired to stage the gig after people from her generation told her they struggled to find somewhere they could enjoy on a night out.

“I appreciate there is nowhere for my age group to feel comfortable,” she said. “We hope that Maidstone’s original disco divas will support us in our quest to bring back the 80s to the town.”

Doors open at 8pm with DJ sets from Greg Edwards and Jeff Young until 2am.

Tickets are £15 and can be bought from the Bank Street bar or from www.wegottickets.com.
