Cheeky Peter Rabbit has been dodging Mr McGregor for more than a century.

Beatrix Potter's loveable character has been delighting generations of youngsters - and their parents - for almost 120 years with the author's books originally published by Frederick Warne & Co.

Famed for her iconic children’s books, Beatrix was also an accomplished gardener and an environmentalist, committed to getting people closer to the outdoors.

For a break from Father Christmas, the National Trust is staging an exhibition this winter where you can discover the fascinating story behind the world famous author with objects on loan from the Frederick Warne Archive.

Discover all about how the outdoors, wildlife and gardening influenced the work of the world-famous author and illustrator, who created characters including Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mr Tod, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Benjamin Bunny and wrote some 23 bestselling books.

The exhibition is on in the Oast House exhibition space at the National Trust property, until after the New Year.

It will be shut on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and runs until Sunday, January 6, 2019, but will be shut on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
