Margate gallery Turner Contemporary displays Tracey Emin's Death Mask

The first bronze sculpture produced by artist Tracey Emin is now on display in Margate.
It was revealed last year that the town’s Turner Contemporary would host Death Mask and the gallery is now showing the piece until Sunday, September 8 after opening the exhibition this week.
The sculpture is described as an ironic reference to Emin’s autobiographic work with her casting her death mask during her own lifetime.
It reflects her belief in self-disclosure, engaging and exploring her own life and body.
Emin has previously said the work will offer herself as a permanent museum display which can be scrutinised and observed for future generations.
She announced last year she is relocating her studio to Margate from London after submitting plans to Thanet council.
The piece is part of a collection titled Coming Home - a project with the National Portrait Gallery which sends portraits of well-known people to places they hold close association with.
The project will involve 50 portraits from the National Collection to towns and cities around the UK.
