Free candy floss, face painting and children's character appearances will mark the opening of a new toy store today.

The new Smyths Toys Superstore opens its doors at Gillingham Business Park, previously home to Poundland, today, in time for the bank holiday weekend.

There will be celebrations both today and tomorrow, between 9am and 4pm, including an Easter egg hunt on the Saturday where there's a chance to win a chocolate treat or even a trampoline.

The chain already has stores three stores in the county in Aylesford, Ashford and Westwood Cross in Broadstairs.
