A festival hoping to bring the best of Kent’s music, food and activities together is coming to the coast.

The Kent Fest, which features live entertainment, local produce and its own dog show, will take place in Birchington’s Quex Park this June.

The two-day family festival boasts three stages of music from talented artists, including Kent-based bands Hobo and the Hippies and Red Green and Blue.

There will also be performances from bluegrass duo Ill Billies, rock orchestra The 286, singer Max White and country covers band Southern Bound.

Away from the stages, there will also be a busy programme of entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Younger visitors can also settle down to watch the puppet show, take part in children’s games and hop on the fairground rides.

One of the biggest draws of the festival will be the dog show, which visitors can register their pups for or simply watch from the sidelines.

There will be agility courses, dog and duck demonstrations, a doggy talent show and four-legged egg and spoon race, as well as the main show with prizes for the best Waggy Tail, Paw Shaker and Golden Oldie.

When you’re ready to take a break from all the action, you can pick up a bite from one of the many food stalls on site.

There will be dishes from global cuisines and a selection of soft drinks, hot drinks, beers, ciders and spirits on offer.

You can book tickets to the Kent Fest, which takes place at Quex Park on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4, online here.

Adult tickets start from £17.50 and there is free parking available.
