Legendary Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is the latest star to settle down with a Cbeebies Bedtime Story.

The musician is reading a story to children this week based on the lyrics of the world famous Beatles song Octopus's Garden written by a fellow member of pop royalty.

Dave Grohl is reading two Cbeebies stories. The first will be shown on Friday, October 8.

Written by band member Ringo Starr, the book follows five children on a magical journey through the Octopus's garden with the playful creature taking the youngsters on a wondrous underwater adventure where they ride on the backs of turtles, play with pirates in a sunken city and shelter from a storm in the octopus's cave.

It is the first of two stories Dave Grohl has recorded for the pre-school channel and it will air this Friday, October 8.

Dave says: “As a proud father of three, I’ve always enjoyed reading stories to my children. It was a pleasure to read these stories for CBeebies.”

Robbie Williams made a festive appearance in 2019

The Foo Fighters’ star follows in the footsteps of other musicians who have appeared on CBeebies Bedtime Stories including Dolly Parton, Rag'n'Bone Man, Sir Elton John, George Ezra, Alesha Dixon, Robbie Williams, Mark Ronson and Will Young, as well as actors Tom Hardy, Felicity Jones, Regé-Jean Page, Tom Hiddleston, Orlando Bloom and Joanna Page.
