The Freewheel Pub and Cycling Cafe in Graveney, near Faversham stages a weekend of cycling events

Cycling fans will be celebrating their shared love of the sport this weekend.

The Freewheel Pub and Cycling Café at Graveney, near Faversham, will hold the celebration weekend on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4 with events from 9am on the Saturday morning, starting with a clearance sale of accessories, bikes and gifts.

Free Dr Bike checks will run all day until 3pm and from 7pm and two of the UK’s leading cycling journalists will offer an insight into the not-so-glamorous world of grease-stained cycling publications in the Freewheel workshop.

At 9am on the Sunday there will be the weekly Roadies Ride and at 10am the popular Steel Steed Ride will leave the Freewheel – both of which are free.

At 3pm experienced bikepacker Simon Allum will be discussing all you need to know about bikepacking, from what bike to ride to where to go and how to tell the world about your trip.
