What's occurring? From comedy gold with Gavin & Stacey, to the classic children's tale The Tiger Who Came to Tea - complete with David Walliams and Robbie Williams - to the loveable ladies of Call the Midwife, there's something on the telly between now and New Year for everyone.

And this week's bumper What's On guide, which is inside all paid-for KM Group papers across the county, has a packed two-week pull-out TV guide to what's on all over the festive period so you have the information you need at your fingertips.

It includes an interview with Miriam Margolyes, who stars in the Call the Midwife Christmas special on BBC1 on Christmas Day at 7pm. The show, which has been filmed partly at the Historic Dockyard Chatham since it started.

Of this special, which is also partly filmed on location in the Outer Hebrides, Miriam said: "They have a gin distillery on the island, which I would love to be an ambassador for. I won't say we were tipsy nuns, but we were jolly..!"

Comedian and actor Rob Brydon, who stars in the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, which is on BBC1 on Christmas Day, also narrates Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's latest tale to be given the festive treatment from Magic Light Pictures, on BBC1 on Christmas Day.

He told What's On: "It's a beautiful book. I've got five children, so I've clocked up a lot of children's story time, and the good ones make it look easy. When you read a bad one it clunks along and is almost painful to read. But Julia's flow beautifully."
