Summer Plum Day coming to Brogdale in Faversham

Did you know plums can protect against cancer; are good for your skin and bones and even lower your cholesterol?

If you’re still needing more pros in their favour, how about they’re juicy, and taste good?

If you’re a lover of plums, there are some 337 varieties on offer in the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale in Faversham.

They’ll be on show and available to try and buy at the attraction’s annual Plum Day on Sunday, August 11.

Discover the fruit display of all shapes, sizes and colours plus fact filled information on the history of plums throughout the day.

You can try and buy plums and other fruits from the Brogdale Fine Fruits shop while exploring the site’s marketplace.

There will be more than 300 varieties of plum on offer this weekend

If you want to get out and about, there’ll be a guided walking or tractor trailer tour of the collection you can hop on with one of the knowledgeable guides.

Tractor trailer tours when you can see the orchards from a fresh perspective, while also learning about the history and scope of the collection, will be running throughout the day which are included in the price of an Orchard Pass tour ticket.

An orchard pass lasts a year, so you can visit the Plum Day and upcoming Pear Day, on Sunday, September 15, and the Cider Festival, which is on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25.
