It is 10 years since one of the county’s most distinctive arts venues opened on the site of an old gallery. Whitstable’s Horsebridge Centre is unlike any other building in Kent with it’s design based on an upturned boat.

It replaced the previously much-loved but less fit for purpose Johnny’s Arthouse and, since its opening in 2004, has been used not only as a gallery but as a venue for performances, comedy, films, classes and workshops.

The free-to-enter arts centre is open seven days a week and attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year.

To mark the 10-year birthday it has a diverse programme this month, including an exhibition called eXpose 10, which runs from Wednesday, April 9, until Tuesday, April 15.

It features the work of 10 local photographers’ work, including George Fisk and Ken Hall, based on 365 days in the life of Whitstable.

The exhibition is open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 5pm on Sundays. Entry is free.
