Tonbridge band Little Suspicions release second single Limes

A band formed last year in lockdown have released their second single a year after forming.

Four-piece Little Suspicions, made up of Kent residents Conor Toner (guitar), Joey Lyon (drums) and Craig Barden (formerly of Maidstone band The Gallerys, on bass) and London-based singer Moritz Meyes have been busy writing music while unable to perform during the pandemic.

Their second single, Limes, which follows their debut Wasting All My Time, was self-recorded between Kent, London and Italy, and mixed by Ben Etter (Deerhunter, The Big Moon).

Combining the crooning vocals of Moritz Meyns with the band’s melodies and sweeping guitar lines, the band’s latest take on indie-rock is a modern day love song with 60s nostalgia, landing somewhere in the middle of Flyte and The Last Shadow Puppets.

Of the single, the band say: "Limes follows the thoughts of the narrator’s nervousness while falling in love. It describes his experience of becoming hopelessly distracted when he thinks of his crushes’ green eyes, of which have become his Achilles heel."

Self-described ‘moody romantics’, the group formed this time last year following a chance meeting between friends Joey and Conor and singer Moritz in a London pub. The trio began writing and recording songs in their Kent home analogue studio - with the later addition of bassist Craig Barden adding the final piece of the Little Suspicions puzzle.
