Got a sweet tooth? We check out nine of the best places to indulge in puddings galore in a savoury-free zone across Kent.

KASPA’S - CANTERBURY, BROADSTAIRS & ASHFORD

The chain, which is on a mission to create an unforgettable experience with authentic desserts for the whole family, has a number of places to indulge across the county.

Kaspa's Desserts

With hot and cold desserts under one roof, the menu boasts a mouthwatering selection of ice creams, gelatos, waffles, crepes, milkshakes, smoothies and sundaes. There are outlets in Ashford High Street, Margate Road in Broadstairs and Canterbury High Street, while others are planned for Green Street in Gillingham, Dover and Tunbridge Wells. Find your local one at kaspas.co.uk

CREAMS - MAIDSTONE, CHATHAM & GRAVESEND

The first Creams opened in 2008 and soon had queues stretching out of the door, and dessert heaven had arrived.

Managers class their offering as desserts as every day celebrations – regardless of whether there is anything to celebrate. The chain has a number of locations around the county among its 49 in the UK, including Maidstone’s King Street, Chatham’s Dockside outlet, and Milton Place in Gravesend.

CHOCOLATE CAFE - CANTERBURY & FOLKESTONE

Based in Canterbury and more recently Folkestone, the Chocolate Cafe serves its desserts with delicate drizzles of chocolate and, if you’re an early riser, there’s even chocolate porridge to start your day with. There are savoury items, but to really indulge, pair some chocolates with your wine, or try chocolate coated strawberries with Prosecco. For details click here.

TREATZ - GRAVESEND

The puddings parlour in Railway Place, Gravesend, points out an important fact to readers of its website: stressed spelt backwards is desserts. So feel the stress ebb away as you tuck into the venue’s mouthwatering sweet treats, currently only found in Gravesend, but the company is considering opening in Maidstone too. Visit treatz.co.uk for details.

SCOOPID & PUDDINGS - MAIDSTONE

Maidstone folk are definitely sweet on dessert as they are spoilt for choice. Local offerings include Scoopid Ice Cream & Dessert Parlour in Earl Street, offering the likes of strawberry & white chocolate waffle or Ferrero Rocher crepes, a Creams down the road, and in Week Street newcomer on the dessert block is Puddings, with its contemporary grey and wooden decor and tempting menu, it can tempt you in even first thing in the morning. Check out the menu for Scoopid at scoopidmaidstone.co.uk

THE CURIOUS CUPCAKE CAFE - MARGATE

You’ll be pleased you stepped off the seafront at Margate to find this little gem of a cafe. With its locally sourced produce where possible, you can also get lunch with your cupcakes and there’s a kids’ menu. Find it at the Market Place in Margate Old Town.

COCOBA - BLUEWATER

You’ve arrived in chocolate heaven when you step inside the doors of this place in Bluewater. Using quality cocoa beans and the best tasting chocolate the brand was started by Australian Darren whose grandad made hot chocolate from premium chocolate rather than powder. All the hot chocolates are made from real Belgian chocolate slowly melted. It also offers a selection of Cocoba signature desserts, including chocolate pizza, a new chocolate waffle menu, warm chocolate cookie dough with ice-cream and an ice cream and frozen yoghurt station. Check it out at cocobachocolate.com

MORELLI’S - BROADSTAIRS

Sometimes the old ones are the best. The first Morelli’s ice cream parlour was opened in Viking Bay in Broadstairs in 1932 and was the first to serve more than 20 flavours of ice cream. In the summer you’ll find queues out the door, enjoying the taste of the seaside and a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Find the old fashioned (but still as tasty as ever) parlour in Victoria Parade overlooking the bay, open all year round. Visit morellisgelato.com for details.
