Hole Park will be in the grip of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte this weekend as history is relived.

The Napoleonic Weekend at Hole Park in Rolvenden is one of the biggest Napoleonic re-enactment events in Kent and this year will be on Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2.

The living history event takes visitors back to the days when Napoleon was plotting to invade - via Kent.

Organised by the Napoleonic Association of Great Britain, the weekend will include thrilling and skilfully re-enacted battles, a period tented camp, horses, guides and even recruitment and training sessions for children.

There will also be stalls and activities, including a hog roast and real ale tent, in keeping with the historic period, between 1793 and 1815. You can book a tour to get closer to the action.

The event is open from 10am to 5pm both days at Hole Park at Benenden Road, Rolvenden.

Entry costs £7.50 and £1 for children between five and 16.
