With a bank holiday weekend heralding the start of the half term holiday, you can relax and head out as a family while the sun shines.

In line with government guidelines, country parks are open so you can take some exercise, and now with the first easing of restrictions, car parks are also open too, as you are able to drive there rather than just visit your nearest.

There are eight country parks across the county you can head to, with one currently out of action for reasons unrelated to the panedmic.

The parks involved are at Brockhill at Hythe), Grove Ferry at Canterbury, Lullingstone at Eynsford near Dartford, Manor Park at West Malling, Shorne Woods near Gravesend, Teston Bridge just outside Maidstone, Trosley (Vigo) and White Horse Woods at Detling near Maidstone.

The parks are currently closing at 6pm to enable wardens to carry out duties including cleaning, though these times may be revised.

Normal summer hours of closing at dusk will return at some point soon.

The Pegwell Bay country park cannot be accessed by car at the moment, however, as the road is closed for works by Southern Water. The park is still open for anyone who can walk there.
