Maidstone musician Fred Clark performs single Call It Home on KMTV

Maidstone musician Fred Clark has been talking gigging, his musical influences and the meaning within his music with KMTV.

Acoustic singer and songwriter Fred also performed his latest single, taken from the album Eternal Sun, on KMTV.

Fred, who has performed some 750 gigs over the last 10 years, described his music as "earth-influenced, upbeat, emotive acoustic pop" when he appeared and played out the show.

He said he started out as a teenager, adding: "From then on, I set a path on gigging, gigging, gigging and I haven't looked back since."

He cited some of his musical influences as Newton Faulkner, Ed Sheeran and Jack Johnson.

Speaking to presenter Louisa Britton, Fred said of his single Call It Home, which he performed: "It is a song about finding where you belong and finding someone or something which makes you feel at home."

Fred was one of a number of musicians who have appeared on the TV station on Thursday evenings.

You can see him perform at the Rochester Christmas Market on Friday, December 8 at 2pm and 5pm, and again on Sunday, December 10 at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, at the Poppy Fields in Maidstone at 8pm, and at various venues in the run up to Christmas, including the Goudhurst Inn on Christmas Eve at 8.30pm.
