Pack up your picnic, your wellies and flat cap because the Kent point-to-point season begins in Charing this weekend.

The village track at the foot of Charing Hill plays host to South East Hunts Club meeting on Sunday, February 14.

Starting from noon, with the last of the six races at 2.55pm, spend a day in the countryside – and maybe come away slightly better off.

Look out for your horse

Take cash with you to cover entry fees and a racecard – splashing out at the bookies is totally optional.

You can reach the racecourse from the Faversham Road, where there is parking.

Place your bets

There will be a bar, food and toilets. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Point-to-point will return to Charing on Easter Saturday, March 26. Other meetings in the county take place at Aldington on Easter Monday and at Penshurst on Sunday, March 20 and Saturday, April 16.
