Rock band Queens of the Stone Age have announced a three-date UK tour, including a night in Kent.

The Californian five-piece will be performing a headline set at Dreamland as part of the Margate Summer Series later this year.

The band’s open-air concert on the vintage fairground’s Scenic Stage will take place on Thursday, June 22. Tickets go on sale here on Friday, April 21 at 9am.

Queens of the Stone Age, fronted by vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme, haven’t performed in the UK since 2018 when they were promoting their seventh studio album, Villains.

Homme, who is also a member of Eagles of Death Metal and Them Crooked Vultures, has been the only constant member of the group since its formation in 1996.

During their 27 year career, the band have become known for alternative rock hits such as No One Knows, Go With the Flow and Little Sister.

They have also worked with some of the biggest names in music, from Dave Ghrol to Elton John, and have performed at Glastonbury Festival, Download Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival.

Queens of the Stone Age will be supported on their brief UK tour, which also includes dates in Halifax and Cardiff, by indie four-piece Coach Party from the Isle of Wight.

The band join the likes of Placebo, Bastille, Primal Scream, Tom Jones and the Human League as part of this year’s Margate Summer Series concerts.

This latest addition to line-up comes shortly after the venue announced dates for both Dizzee Rascal and Public Image Ltd last week.
