Blogger, scriptwriter, playwright and stand up Richard Herring is many things.

Currently working on a new sitcom for Channel 4, Everything Happens for a Reason, Richard also has the interesting honour of having the second longest continuous blog on the internet which he started back in 2002.

“On a personal level things are going pretty well, so it’s just typical that the world is trying to destroy itself to ruin things for me,” he says.

He also has a Leicester Square Theatre Podcast which has seen him interview people like Stephen Fry, Simon Pegg, Tim Minchin, Stephen Merchant and Russell Brand.

In between writing the new sitcom, he’s touring and will be stopping off at the Gulbenkian in Canterbury on Sunday, March 5.
