There'll be two years' worth of vintage vibes to pack into a fabulous 40s festival this weekend.

Salute to the 40s will be back at the Historic Dockyard Chatham after it was postponed last year, so it's time to perfect your victory rolls and plan your vintage finery for a weekend of belated celebrations.

The wartime spirit will be very much alive as 40s fever rolls in to the dockyard on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19.

Live music comes in the shape of show-stopping performances from BGT stars the D-Day Darlings, with acts also taking to the stage including the Dolly Girls, Miss Holiday Swing and Mickie Driver.

The blitz spirit will take over the 80-acre site as military displays join Home Front demonstrations and dance workshops.

A replica 1940s village will be ready to eplore, or visitors can take shelter in a bunker as part of a real-life air raid evacuation before browsing the buzzing vintage street market and shopping for genuine collectables and reproduction clothing.

The two days of festivities provide important fundraising for the Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust.
