Singer songwriter Ellie Goulding has revealed she'd love to get an honorary degree, after abandoning her studies in Kent to pursue her music dream.

The 28-year-old star was chatting to kmfm's Glen Scott on the Hit List last night when she let slip that she'd love the honour from the University of Kent in Canterbury.

She was two years into her studies there when she decided to leave to concentrate on making it in the music world.

"I was working hard on my degree and then I quit and all my teachers were really supportive. They said 'we’ve heard the music on Myspace and we think you should go for it. They were really good."

Ellie praised staff at the University of Kent for their support when she chose to pursue a singing career.
