The call of the wild has never carried such a roar as it does at a Kent wildlife attraction by night.

Port Lympne Reserve has launched a new and exciting way to stay at its wild animal park, offering guests the opportunity to sleep within roaring distance of its lions.

And not only lions but rare Amur tigers and prowling cheetahs – all while guests are snuggled within their very own cosy camping pods.

Aiming to put the fun back into camping, the Pinewood pods are designed with luxury and little home comforts in mind. Each one is insulated, secure, and has a private deck with seating. Inside, they have two single beds, a luxury double futon and plenty of storage.

The idea of the Pinewood “village”, which consists of 10 pods with individual barbecue areas, is to capture the fun of sleeping in the wild without the need to pitch a tent.

It is within the 600-acre reserve near Hythe, which boasts some of the most rare and endangered species in the world and keeps a focus on native and exotic conservation.
