One of the first black British artists to make a serious mark on the jazz scene in the 1980s, Courtney Pine has since been made an OBE for his services to music.

Today, the 52-year-old regularly appears on the list of Most Influential Black Britons and in 2014 he joined a dazzling line-up of musicians to celebrate International Jazz Day for a United Nations globally-televised concert.

A prolific artist, he is onto his 16th studio album and this weekend plans to strip everything back for what will be the most intimate shows of his career.

Courtney is teaming up with fellow Mercury nominee and MOBO award-winning pianist Zoe Rahman, whose style is deeply rooted in jazz, but whose music also reflects her classical background and British/Bengali heritage.

Their show will be at the Orchard Theatre, Dartford on Sunday, April 3.

For tickets at £22.50, visit orchardtheatre.co.uk or call 01322 220000.
