Over the years, I have stayed in lots of holiday parks.

Some big, some small, but none more perfect than Chesil Vista Holiday Park in Weymouth, Dorset.

Caravan terrace at Chesil Vista

It's recently undergone a multi-million pound makeover and it certainly is top notch.

It has everything you could possibly need.

I’d never been to Dorset before but I’ll certainly be returning as the place is a wonderful area to explore.

The caravan we stayed in was magnificent and I couldn’t fault it.

It was clean, fresh and everything was so modern and luxurious.

There was plenty of room for six people in our one, but there were just two of us, so it was a perfect for myself and my holiday buddy to relax in.

The caravans at Chesil Vista are all modern and luxurious

In fact, I have no idea why they are called caravans, they are homes, and ours was certainly home from home.

The park is just the perfect size, not too big, and not too small and is situated perfectly in on the Jurassic Coast at Chesil Beach.

It has a lovely heated indoor pool, sauna and gym and The Venue bar, which houses the main entertainment each night, is spacious and modern. The staff were lovely.

There is also an arcade and games room for the youngsters to enjoy.

Its other bar and restaurant has also had a makeover, it is a casual but chic dining experience.

The Breeze Bar and Grill is a great place to eat.

We ate there one night and my companion and I both went for the hanging kebabs.

It's apparently their best selling dish and I can tell why. It was delicious, mouthwatering and reasonably priced.

Oh and if you are a cheese lover, try the beautiful cheese board on offer, the Chesil Cheddar is to die for.

We'd hire a bike and we rode to the bottom of Portland, of course, most of the town is at the top of the cliffs and we came back to that later with the car, but at the end of the Isle of Portland, just before the cliffs is one of the most beautiful parts of the British coastline I've ever seen.

From Chesil Vista we rode the flat route to Portland and found a most wonderful beach.

Quiddles Cafe is at the end of The Esplanade, at Chiswell, Portland

It's so worth the ride as there is a little hidden gem at the end by the cliffs.

It's on The Esplanade, Chiswell, Portland and is called Quiddles Cafe.

We sat just watching the coastline for several hours there before tucking into a delicious late breakfast.

Later we hopped in the car and visited the Portland Bill Lighthouse.

Wow, what a beautiful view you get from its cliffs, we stayed for a while just admiring the clear blue sea.

We also decided to drive along the Jurassic coastline to Bridport and West Bay, some people will know it as where the TV show Broadchurch was filmed.

It's just a stunning drive along the clifftops and we loved the bay and stayed all afternoon before getting some prawns at the fishmongers.

We also rode our bikes along the Rodwell Trail coastal path to Weymouth and its Harbour.

There is so much to see and do there and the ride was flat and easy.

Weymonth itself is a beautiful seaside town and it has a Sea Life centre, beautiful beach and the Old Harbour is stunning especially at night.

If you like your seafood then the Weymouth Harbour is the a great place to eat, but the Crab House Cafe and Billy Winters near Chesil Vista are a must.
