Gas leak dealt with in Whitstable

Emergency crews rushed to deal with a gas leak.

The fire service, police and gas safety engineers SGN went to an empty house in Canterbury Road, Whitstable.

A police spokesman said: "We attended and safety engineers were called after officers noticed a smell of gas coming from the house. It has been ventilated and declared safe."

SGN confirmed readings were taken and said the house was deemed safe at 6.15pm, two hours after concerns were reported.
