Garage fire spreads to two bungalows in Seafield Road, Whitstable

Fire crews tackled a garage fire which had spread to two bungalows.

Four fire engines were called to Seafield Road, Whitstable, at 3.07am in the early hours of this morning.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames, which had spread to the roof of two neighbouring bungalows.

Two people were passed into the care of paramedics for "precautionary checks". No other casualties were reported.

The fire service's volunteer response team provided support and welfare for the affected residents and crews.

It is understood the cause of the fire was electrical, and started accidentally.
