56-year-old charged with assaulting female PCSO in Whitstable

A man is appearing in court today, charged with assaulting a female Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).

Derek William Phillips, of no fixed address, also faces a charge of breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

The 56-year-old was arrested in Whitstable on Friday afternoon.

Phillips was arrested in Whitstable (1289250)

He was charged with breaching his CBO by being drunk in a public place, which he was prohibited from doing by the order made by North Kent Magistrates in November 2016.

Later that day, he was also charged with assaulting a female PCSO in Brices Alley.

Details of the assault are unknown.

Phillips is due to appear before Medway magistrates' court today.
