A teenage mum has been arrested after allegedly abandoning her baby outside a supermarket.

Police were called to the Co-op in Canterbury Road, Whitstable, after the youngster was discovered in a pram at about 6.20pm last night.

As temperatures plummeted, officers searched the area for the 18-year-old mum, who had last been seen outside the store.
