Photos have emerged of a popular Channel 4 comedy being filmed in Whitstable.

Film crews were spotted along Whitstable and Tankerton seafront last week, as they shot scenes for a new series of hit show Catastrophe.

Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan both write and star in the BAFTA-winning television series.

Film trailers occupied Marine Crescent, after they rolled into Tankerton early in the week.

Many local residents reported spotting them filming in the area – including at The Beacon House by Tankerton Slopes, and on The Street at low-tide.

The actors were also photographed filming near the Lobster Shack on the East Quay, dressed all in black and pushing a pram.

It appears in the photos that the eatery was renamed 'Archie's Lobster Shack', for filming purposes.

Catastrophe centres around a couple, played by Delaney and Horgan, thrown together after a transatlantic one-night-stand results in a pregnancy.

Its star-studded cast also includes Ashley Jensen, Mark Bonnar and the late Carrie Fisher.
