Man taken to London hospital after being hit by car in St Anne's Road, Tankerton

A witness appeal has been launched after a 90-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a car as he crossed the road.

The pensioner was rushed to a London hospital after the incident in St Anne’s Road, Tankerton, at 3.15pm yesterday.

It is thought he was hit by a silver Ford Cougar which had turned into the street from Tankerton Road.

Both ends of the street were shut off and remained so for a number of hours.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the man immediately before the collision.
