A serious crash near a KFC drive-thru has resulted in a man being taken to hospital.

At about 11am police and ambulance crews were called to the Old Thanet Way at Chestfield, near Whitstable.

It is understood the accident took place near the Chestfield roundabout, close to the KFC restaurant and a McDonald's drive-thru.

Police have confirmed the collision involved a single vehicle.

Kent Highways has warned of delays in and around the area.
