A twister that closely resembles a tornado has been spotted off the Kent coast.

The spinning cloud formation was seen off Whitstable and Herne Bay, with several people taking to social media to discuss the phenomenon.

A funnel cloud is made up of condensed water droplets. Although they spin, the formation only becomes a tornado on contact with the ground.
