Whitstable boss Simon Halsey focused on winning and not what's happened in the past when Ramsgate make the trip to The Belmont

Whitstable boss Simon Halsey admits he slept well on Monday night.

He wasn't about to lose any sleep ahead of facing his former employers Ramsgate for the first time since leaving Southwood in Tuesday’s Ryman League, Division 1 South clash at The Belmont (7.45pm).

The game will also mark the return of former Whitstable managers managers Jim and Danny Ward.

But Halsey is reading nothing into the encounter, other than trying to win it.

He said: "It's just another game of football as far as I am concerned. There is not a chance in hell that I will be treating it any differently to any other.

"People are saying it's a big game because I am here now and the Wards are there but that's football for you.

"People move on and it's about the present now and not what's happened in the past.

"Our focus is on winning and nothing else.

"We have gifted teams wins in our past two games and we've got to put an end to that."
