Ashford man in court after scissors attack in High Street

A 27-year-old has been accused of grievous bodily harm after a man was attacked with a pair of scissors.

Police were called to the scene outside HD Barbers in Ashford High Street just after 2.35pm yesterday.

A man had suffered injuries to his arm after reportedly being attacked with a pair of scissors

The victim, who had suffered injuries to his arm, was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Sari Al Khafaji, of Crownfield Road in Ashford, has been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article, and criminal damage.

He appeared before magistrates today in Medway, where he entered a plea of not guilty to each of the accusations.

Al Khafaji has been remanded in custody and will appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, February 10.

The barber's had only opened January 2 following a failed bid to convert the former stationery store into a wine bar last year.
