Although now frequently filled with fast-food eaters, the historic city centre building dates back to the 1910s when it housed Canterbury Electric Cinema - a venue for silent films and theatre shows.

The property is arranged over three floors, spanning 3,543sq ft.

It is being sold through Acuitus with a guide price of £1.1 to £1.2m, and a current rent of £78,550.

GBK - which has more than 60 restaurants across the UK - has the lease until 2034, so will continue as tenant.

The building auction takes place at London's The Montcalm Hotel on December 11.
