Fire at derelict pub in Burgess Road, Aylesham

Firefighters have been tackling a major blaze at a derelict pub.

The fire broke out in the early hours of this morning in Burgess Road, Aylesham, between Canterbury and Dover.

People living nearby have been warned to close windows

At the height of the blaze, crews in six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene to tackle the flames.

Flames shoot into the sky

People who live nearby are asked to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution due to smoke.

One fire engine remains at the scene as the fire is left to burn out under controlled conditions.

It's understood no one has been injured.
