Popular American burger chain Five Guys reopened some of its Kent branches today.

The firm was forced to close its restaurants in Canterbury, Maidstone, Bromley, and at Ashford's Designer Outlet and Bluewater Shopping Centre, amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

But fast food fans will be pleased to hear its franchises in Canterbury high street and Earl Street in Maidstone reopened at midday.

And there were a lot of people keen to make the most of the chance for a burger at the Maidstone branch, with around 100 orders made in the first hour.

Customers can either order food for collection through the Five Guys website, or order for home delivery through Deliveroo.

The chain, which started up in the 1980s, is renowned for its burgers, hot dogs and skin-on fries. The company has rapidly grown in size across the UK in recent years after opening more than 1,000 restaurants in North America.
